Unique patterns in the sand are realised as organic decoration on this pill box, using the traditional technique of chasing and repousse.

This piece is a paintbox and was a commission. I used chasing and repousse punches for the texture and the piece has two hinges, one for the palette tray and onto opening up the lid.

This box focuses on the texture, look and movement of the seaweed. The placement of the wires was intended to create movement through a solid object. The use of puk-welding has allowed me to create the directional movement.

This piece was funded by the Goldsmiths Bullion Precious Metals Bursary and exhibited at 'Open up' HammerClub, The Netherlands 2020.

I was researching traditional boxes and liked the fact they were raised off the ground and had a centre piece on the middle of the lid which gives the box a monarchical feel.

The two objects stack on-top of each other, with the base of the top object having a triangular indent that matches with the lid of the bottom object. Once the pieces are stacked together the pattern continues down the piece, making the piece connect into one. You can have the pieces displayed together or individual.

Inspired by tactile imprints in the sand, this handmade piece is textured inside and out, creating hidden details. The pattern is accentuated by the subtle difference between finishes.

The random placing of the stones was inspired by the natural placement of pebbles on the beach. They are small in size, intended to fit in the palm of your hand.
