Four Piece Deviant Angle Box

Made during a period of study under Cor Aerssens in Holland.

Each piece nestles into the next to result in a floating collar lid.

Stub Binding

This stub binding was made for my solo exhibition at The Lighthouse, 2019.

This method is often used in conservation binding to protect a delicate text block, but produces interesting opportunities for design.

Graphic Sayings

This was an entry to the Elizabeth Soutar bookbinding competition at The National Library of Scotland.

The leather jointed in this image was gilded to align with the hand painted brushstroke of the endpapers.

The Long Journey

Incline Press book block. The text was a collection of Robert Louis Stevenson poems charting the journey of life, inspiring bird motifs.

The top edge is coloured in graphite with gold tooling.

Bound as an entry to the Society of Bookbinders annual competition.
