With the hubbub of London Craft Week over and less than nine weeks until our Summer Show kicks off, our 2018/19 programme is off to a fantastic start. We are now thrilled to announce our full programme for this year, alongside long-standing favourites we also have a number of exciting new projects.
Following on from 12 months of sector research and listening to makers’ feedback, Craft Scotland is creating a brand-new maker development programme. Launching in late 2018, this programme has been generously funded by the William Grant Foundation. Supporting makers’ creative and professional development is one of Craft Scotland’s main focuses: this bespoke programme will have three strands, catering for start-up, emerging and established makers.
We are also delighted to announce that Craft Scotland is now a Trade Challenge Partner for Department of International Trade (DIT, formerly UKTI). Following on from several maker go-and-sees and sector research, we have identified NY Now as a rewarding international trade show for makers to attend. Through DIT, we have secured funding for 12 makers to attend NY Now in February 2019.
After two successful years presenting Scotland: Craft & Design at London Design Fair, Craft Scotland is currently re-evaluating our participation in this event due to the loss of funding for our show partners, Emergents. If you are still interested in taking part in London Design Fair 2018, please contact the show organiser directly.
