Makers and craft destinations: share your practice with the world through our Craft Directory.

Please note that new applications for makers and places to the Craft Directory are currently paused to allow for vital digital maintenance work to take place.  Applications will reopen in August 2021.

Craft Directory renewals will still take place, if you need any support please email mayanne@craftscotland.org. We will be focusing on increasing useability and improving accessibility and will return with improved maker forms and profile functionality.

Sign-up to our monthly Opportunities newsletter to stay up to date with the latest development on the Craft Directory.

The Craft Directory showcases the best in Scottish contemporary craft from makers and craft destinations based in Scotland.

Join our Craft Directory and showcase your handmade objects to an engaged and growing audience. Our directory is a popular online platform to discover and explore Scottish contemporary craft for consumers, tourists, press, makers and other industry contacts.

With the introduction of an assessed application process, the Craft Directory enables audiences to search and connect with makers and destinations who are creating and promoting the best in contemporary, design-led craft in Scotland. Craft Places include independent retailers, galleries and museums with a craft focus, as well as open studio events, studio complexes and collectives.

The new profiles are visually striking with detailed information and an improved search functionality. The new functionality means that your profile will be prominently tied into the rest of the website including our Journal, What’s On and the Craft Scotland project pages.

You will benefit from a detailed biography, extensive image gallery and prominently featured events/exhibitions listings. You can upload multiple images of your collections and tell your craft story. With prominent links to your own website and social media, you can then increase your own online following, which you can translate into sales, commissions, and footfall.

To join the enhanced Makers Directory there is an application process. Once you have applied, if your profile is successful, you will be subject to an annual fee. To be eligible for the new Makers Directory you must be a professional craft maker living and working in Scotland and meet our Maker and Quality criteria
