I am an artist designer working in silver and vitreous enamel. I make pieces of jewellery and small silver objects using many different traditional techniques.
Drawing and painting has always been the starting point for my designs, my aim is to try and create a piece of work which is true to the original sketches. Often the drawings are fairly free and the challenge is to keep to the spirit of the design without becoming too rigid.
Working with transparent enamel allows me to add colour to my work. By adding layers of fine gold and silver foil in the enamel I can achieve a certain depth of colour and shimmer which I couldn’t achieve in any other medium.
