11:00am - 6:00pmWhilst there was not a single theme to the day, a recurring topic of the conference was practice models - in particular looking at the journey and the diversity of a practice. It is not always possible or perhaps desirable in this day and age for makers to live a romantic life solely in their studio. Designer/makers have to adapt and diversify their practice, and create multifaceted careers that take them in all kinds of directions.
The link between the speakers was this adaptability and the interesting work they make, but also the practice that they have built up around their objects.
