Considering these global developments, we understand that this is an increasingly uncertain time for you and your loved ones, and for your creative and business practice.
At Craft Scotland, we are committed to keeping the sector informed during this challenging time. Our Maker’s Guide to Coronavirus (COVID-19) lists resources to help prepare your craft business for the months ahead. It will be updated regularly as developments happen, and was last updated this afternoon.
Our Director, Irene Kernan is working closely with Creative Scotland and other arts and cultural organisations to pool resources and look at how the cultural community can be supported.
Craft Scotland Programme for 2020/21
We are currently reevaluating our programme of activity for 2020/21 in light of the new government advice. Particularly, we have taken the decision to postpone the Craft Scotland Conference until 2021. We are exploring ways to deliver some aspects of our programme online, including our learning and development programme COMPASS.
We want to hear from you
We understand that this is a very worrying time in terms of income, studio access and mental health. We would like to keep the craft community connected over the next few months and therefore are eager to hear from makers and the sector about what might help during this period of increased uncertainty.

Craft Scotland office
Our office at Castle Mills is now closed for the foreseeable future. The team are now working from home, until we settle into our new routine there may be a slight delay in getting back to you. We thank you for your patience. We have access to all of the Craft Scotland email inboxes, so your query will be picked up. We will also ensure that makers and freelancers who are working with us are paid promptly.
