Changes which accompany the movement of light across the reflective, linear planes of a city provide Ruth with a basis for visual exploration to create her collections of bold, geometric jewellery. The distorted and fragmented reflections within the resin surfaces of her work, combined with recycled precious metal ‘frameworks’ reference the city’s architecture; with drawing and photography central to Ruth’s practice.
Ruth graduated with First Class Honours in Jewellery and Silversmithing from The Glasgow School of Art in 2016, and now works from her studio in Glasgow -a city which inspires much of her practice. Her sculptural, geometric jewellery objects are exhibited internationally, and Ruth is constantly inspired by the places she visits and inhabits.
