Olive is the designer and maker behind the brand Olive Pearson Designs. Her current focus is hand-framed knitted textiles, for which she won a Gold Product Award at Scotland's Trade Show in January 2020. A lover of geometry and pattern since her childhood fascination with spirograph, Olive's practice is driven by the exploration of repetition and colour. Her signature patterns combine traditional craft techniques with contemporary design, creating luxury, slow-fashion heirloom pieces. She designs new patterns for merino lambswool each year, in beautiful colour combinations that sit alongside her timeless limited edition cashmere and cotton collections.
Because everything is hand-crafted by Olive in her Glasgow studio, current and archive designs can be made to order in customers choice of colours and sizes at no extra cost - creating bespoke scarves unique to the wearer, making ideal gifts.
Passionate about zero-waste, damaged merino lambswool knitwear can be returned to Olive for repair or recycling. She turned her creativity during lockdown to using and upcycling materials in her studio - making limited edition handmade notebooks, leather jewellery and handpainted tote bags.
Collaborations and commissions include Outlander TV Series, Arthur Smith, The British Golf Museum, and most recently the National Library of Scotland.
