Workshops
I run a rolling program of day, weekend and evening classes from beginners right through to more advanced levels. Classes can be a ‘one off’ learning experience or a progression route to more advanced skills and creative practice. The classes are skills based, product based, theme based or a combination depending on the customer, and learning outcome. I offer inductions to the print space and work with individual textile artists/ designers to explore and expand their practice.
Lecturing & Talks
I offer screen print demonstrations, artists talks and creative development support. As part of the Perthshire Open Studios i was invited to present an Artist Talk and demonstration over two evenings at the Walk in Cafe, Spittalfield. Curator John Ennis for Journey's in Design invited me to do an Artist Talk and demo at Merchants House Kirkaldy as part of his Linen Stories Exhibition.Edinburgh Print makers workshop presented my work and I demonstrated my print technique to Friends of the Print makers at their open evening event. Hand Made in Edinburgh at the Hub, Edinburgh Castle I was live printing throughout the 3 day selling event.
Curating
As joint curator I designed a festive selling event called GIFT Edinburgh 2019 with Jewelry designer Lisa Arnott. We selected makers working in a range of different disciplines from around Edinburgh. The event ran over 2 weeks and 3 weekends on the run up to Christmas and included 2 corporate shopping evenings at the Bloc Gallery. I was exhibition designer, logo branding and marketing designer. Lisa and I shared the daily running of the exhibition.As part of the resident artist group at Abbeymount Studios I curated a selling exhibition upstairs at the neighboring venue Century General Store in April 2018. I selected designer makers whose work complimented in style, aesthetic and discipline. I also coordinated, styled the visuals for the marketing materials.
