Lauren Smith is a mixed media artist based in Edinburgh. Heavily inspired by retro patterns and colours, Lauren creates unique embroidered pieces from her studio in Edinburgh. Each piece begins as a painting and is finished with stitch and embellishments.
Born in Edinburgh, Lauren studied Fashion at Edinburgh College of Art before going on to complete a Master’s degree in Textiles. In June 2013, Lauren won the renowned Gold Award at Graduate Fashion Week and received the opportunity to design a collection for the George G21 Talent range. Later that year, Lauren won the Graduate of the Year award at the Scottish Fashion Awards.
