Graduating from Fashion Design at Grays School of Art, Laura Sherriffs went on to set up her own accessories brand, Fernweh UK. Fernweh UK is inspired by a passion for the Scottish outdoors and adventure, functional high quality design and sustainability. Laura creates artisan bags, hats and accessories using traditional materials such as waxed canvas, leather and wool to create rugged, unique pieces with a modern twist that will age with the wearer and tell the story of a lifetime of adventures. Colour palettes reflect that of Scottish coastlines, mountain corries and lochs, each design hoping to evoke a sense of adventure.Each piece is handcrafted in Laura's studio in Aberdeen with the highest attention to craft and detail with a particular focus on sustainability. Creating products that last a lifetime using quality materials and minimising waste are core ethics of the Fernweh brand, as we all have a responsibility to look after this beautiful land we call home.
