Emma Alexander
I’m an award winning, highly sought after, Scottish jewellery artist who set up my practice from Wasps Studios, Dundee in October 2006, after graduating from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design. I have now moved my studio to Tayport.
Growing up in the coastal town of Largs has had a major influence in my work as well as living in Dundee, I have always been completely in awe of the sea. I spent my childhood combing the sand for unusual shells and rocks, many of which I still have today. I also love to go walking up the hills and get inspired by the colours, textures and shapes in the landscape. Architecture is also a passion. I combine clean cut lines and forms with rustic textures, creating edgy, statement pieces of wearable art.
I enjoy mixing precious metals and acrylics with precious and rare gemstones to create beautiful sculptures that should be worn and adored.I specialise in bespoke commissions, wedding and engagement rings and revamping sentimental pieces into wearable jewellery.
My new Wearable Art Collection fuses art, 3d printing, haptic technology, sculpture, precious materials and uniqueness, which is tailored to my customers desires. Be bold, be strong, be empowered.
